What To Expect From A Female Infertility Test

The reality of infertility is that a couple who have bee striving to conceive for over a year may need to go to a doctor to have some tests done to see what the problem is. A female infertility test is different from a man's semen test. Usually, most doctors see the result of a man's test after just the semen test, while a woman may have several tests done to here to pinpoint where the problem lies. A female infertility test does not only look into the uterus or the fallopian tubes but almost all aspects of the female reproductive system

Ultrasound

This may not actually be a fertility test because it just shows the doctor the capacity of the woman to house the fertilized egg. This procedure can actually monitor the thickness of the lining in the uterus and look out for the arrival of the egg ready for fertilization. This may not actually be a proper female infertility test but it can help to see the progress of the egg and the capacity of the uterus. Usually, this kind of female infertility test is done with an intra vaginal ultrasound.

Cervical Mucus Test

This female infertility test actually checks on the amount of mucus present in the reproductive system. Mucus is important for the sperm to be bale to reach the egg. If there is less mucus, the sperm cannot swim or survive enough to reach the egg to fertilize it. This female infertility test actually does not test for fertility but instead tests for the woman's capacity to bring the sperm and the egg together.

Hormone Testing

This female infertility test is one of the most important of some tests. This test entails checking out the balance of a woman's hormones. Hormones play a huge role in the reproductive system of both male and female of the human species. A hormonal imbalance can effectively wipe out any chance of conception. The different hormones to be tested in these female infertility tests are the free and total testosterone levels, prolactin levels, progesterone levels, luteinizing hormone levels, follicle stimulating levels and many others. Doctors may recommend taking an infertility drug if the results of the hormone testing show that this can help.

The different female infertility tests may or may not show if the woman may be the cause of none conception. There can be more tests of the results of the above female infertility tests remain inconclusive.
